• Michelle M. Volesko Brewer, president of the SLA's Princeton-Trenton Chapter, provides a recap and thanks participants who made possible the Chapter's 40th Anniversary Celebration on May 10, 2007. Among the highlights: SCILS student Rebecca A. Dean is awarded the Rosemary Allen Little scholarship award.
   
• Connie Fontana has been named the recipient of the first scholarship awarded by the NJ Chapter of SLA. Connie graduated from the MLIS program in January 2007, and is also RUSLA's president emerita. You may read her essay here (PDF file).
  
  
• From SCILS Dean Gustav Friedrich (October 29, 2006):

MLIS student Stephanie Fox has an article in the September/October issue of a Thomson West Librarian Relations newsletter entitled, "Law Librarians in the New Millennium." The article is adapted from a management consultant paper that she wrote for Marie Radford's Spring 2006 Management of Libraries and Information Services course. The newsletter can be accessed here. • RUSLA was honored with the SLA Certificate of Merit for Innovative Programming by a Student Group at the SLA's annual convention in Baltimore on June 12, 2006. RUSLA members and faculty advisor Claire McInerney accepted the honor. (RUSLA previously won this award in 2000.)
